Chemical properties:

Fineness:

  • It is measured in terms of the rate of weight held after sieving the cement within a 90-micron sieve or on the surface section of cement in square centimeters by a gram of cement. According to IS code designation weight held on the sieve should not be higher than 10 percent. The duration of the articular surface should not be smaller than 2250 cm2/gm.

Setting time:

  • A duration of 30 minutes is the smallest setting time for the initial setting and the greatest period of 600 minutes as the highest setting time is defined by IS code, presented the tests are conducted as per the method prescribed by IS 269-1967.

Soundness:
